How to store stainless steel strapping to maintain its performance?

Storage and maintenance of stainless steel strapping to preserve its performance.

1. Store in rolls

Use a dedicated winding mechanism to rewind the strapping into complete rolls, avoiding loose stacking that can lead to tangling or surface damage.

2. Moisture and rust prevention

The storage environment should be kept dry and well-ventilated to prevent moisture from corroding the stainless steel surface; for long-term storage, apply anti-rust oil or agent to the outer layer of the roll.

3. Batch packaging

Strapping of the same batch and specifications should be placed in the same roll, with a weight not exceeding 5 tons, for easy handling and to prevent mixing of batches.

4. Prevent mechanical damage

The ends of the rolls should be placed neatly, and short lengths of steel strapping should be packaged separately to prevent deformation caused by pressure or impact on the ends.

5. Use dedicated tools

When strapping, use tensioning tools of the appropriate width (such as LQA ratchet type, HTC screw type) to ensure even tension and prevent overstretching that can lead to material fatigue.

6.Regular inspection

Regularly check the surface of the rolls for scratches, rust spots, or deformation during storage. Replace or repackage immediately if any abnormalities are found.

7.Avoid high temperatures

Do not place the strapping in high-temperature environments to prevent thermal expansion of the metal, which can generate stress and affect subsequent strength.
