What special tools are needed when working with stainless steel strapping?

Special Tools for Working with Stainless Steel Strapping
1. Strapping Gun (Manual or Electric)

Using a ratchet or screw mechanism for quick tightening, it's suitable for stainless steel strapping of varying widths. Common models include hand-operated ratchet guns and heavy-duty screw-operated guns.

Electric strapping guns equipped with batteries or rechargeable batteries improve efficiency during high-frequency work.
2. Cable Tie Shears/Cutters

Specialized shears precisely cut through metal strapping while maintaining tension, preventing residual metal burrs that can affect subsequent assembly.

Some shears have an automatic locking feature that automatically stops after use, enhancing safety.
3. Tensioners/Retractors

Used for secondary tightening of already secured strapping, common options include manual tensioners, screw-type retractors, and pneumatic retractors.

Tension can be fine-tuned by adjusting the pitch or air pressure, ensuring the strapping does not loosen under vibration or shock.

4. Accessories

Personal protective equipment such as protective gloves and cut-resistant gloves is required to prevent injury during cutting or tightening.
Measuring tools (calipers, tape measure) are used to confirm the width and length of the strapping to ensure the proper specifications of the stainless steel strapping are selected.
